Last week I participated as a Keynote Speaker at the RECTECH Conference 2016 organized by AIM GROUP in Amsterdam. It was a very interesting experience and I want to thank the organization for having invited me to participate. It was a very motivating two days reflecting on the future and new trends in the job boards business. It was a pleasure to share thoughts and ideas with other players and leading companies like Seek, Monster or Experteer, amongst many others.
Interestingly, during the conference, we learned about two important news issues which had just been released relating to our business. The first, that Microsoft had bought Linkedin for 23.260 million euros and the second that JobandTalent had managed to close a round of financing of 42 million euros. Obviously, all speakers and attendees spoke in depth about these two new facts. This shows again that our business generates a huge interest and that everything moves very fast. So much so, I had to update on the same Monday a slide of my presentation to fit the developments that had occurred.
We shared many interesting ideas at the RECTECH Conference, but above all, as I said in my presentation, I think that besides some threats we have two big opportunities. On the one hand, Education, which always has been related to Job Boards, and, on the other hand, Data Analysis (Big Data). It will be vital for all companies to know their users in detail. Job Boards have a one of the largest databases with an extraordinary knowledge of millions of people.
I would like to congratulate Advanced Interactive Media (AIM) Group and TAtech (The Association for Talent Acquisition Solutions) for the success of this first event of the RECTECH Conference.
No doubt, it will be a “must” and essential annual event for job boards from now on.
